Plant Trees For An Environmentally Friendly World

Because of cutting down trees, we lose as many as six billion trees on an annual basis. There is so much that is produced from trees and this means there is a big demand in the marketplace. Such as wood to build dwellings, paper for writing on and even toilet paper for, well you know. It is possible to act to save our forests although we should accept that most of the things made from trees are essential.

Arbor Day was established with the aim that we should all be planting trees on that day although actually this has had little impact. Planting trees is not an activity that most people give any thought to. If everyone could do our part and plant a tree, it would make a difference.

There are around seven billion people in the world right now. That is only an approximation as you can’t keep an exact count. But then, if each of those 7 billion folks went out and planted a tree every Arbor Day, we would be able to replace all the trees that were felled that year. Sadly, this won’t ever occur.

If you want to maintain our ecosystems, planting trees is a positive step that you can take. And I don’t mean to merely go out once a year and plant a tree. I am suggesting planting a tree more or less once per month or even once per week. We have to try to make up for those individuals who refuse to plant trees even though they go on using the earth’s valuable resources.

Are you aware that on Arbor Day, only approximately 8 and 15 million trees are planted? That still comes out to a 5 billion tree deficit annually. This situation keeps on getting worse.

A complete answer is necessary that still encourages individuals to plant trees but I would like to suggest the following. It could be made a legal requirement that anyone involved in cutting down trees has to replace each tree felled with two newly planted ones and this would go a long way to solving the problem.

We will have to continue to face this issue ourselves until there is the political willpower to make these changes. In reality, restoring the amount of trees required is definitely doable. The number of trees cut down annually could be replaced if ten percent of the world’s population planted one tree each month. Around 7 billion new trees would be planted by doing this. In essence, this gives us an additional one billion trees and will go a long way to restoring the levels that are truly needed.

And so for anyone who wants to make a positive difference to our environment, go plant a tree. Once more, it merely takes 10% of our population to begin making a difference. You’re the only one who can decide if you want to do this.
